Prairie Lithium Brine Project
Proven production of battery grade product in very high demand
Project Highlights
- 4.6 MT LCE Total Indicated Resource
- Readily accessible infrastructure
- Efficient Regulatory systems built on years of local mining and oil and gas operations
The only Lithium Brine Project in Canada fully permitted to establish Production
- Prairie Lithium has received approval from the Saskatchewan Ministry of Energy and Resources for Phase 1 production at Pad #1.
- This represents the first lithium brine project in Saskatchewan to reach this milestone, and one of the first lithium brine projects in North America to be approved for initial production.
- Phase 1 will see the Prairie Lithium Project go into production at Pad #1 using a commercial-scale DLE unit capable of producing 150 TPA LCE.
- De-risking with a commercial-scale proof of concept allows production to be increased by rapid replication of the process at additional pad locations.
Surface Pad Construction
Production Flow Sheet
- The Prairie Lithium Project utilizes conventional oil and gas drilling and completion methods to access lithium rich brine from aquifers about 2.0 km underground.
- Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) technology is used to separate the lithium from the brine.
- The remaining lithium-depleted brine will be disposed of back underground into a different aquifer.
- The extracted lithium concentrate is then converted to an upgraded high-purity material.
